What Debate Is Here
Goodwill debate is not forced agreement. Start with the other person's real point, not the version that is easiest to attack. State your own point clearly. Find what you already agree on. Then identify the fact, assumption, value, definition, or prediction that still separates you.

Goodwill and Integrity
Test that hinge with reasons and sources. If either side distorts the claim, name the move and repair it. If the evidence is missing, say so. If the record changes, update. A good debate does not have to end with one side winning. It should end with a clearer map of what is known, what is disputed, and what would change the conclusion.

The New Protest
Street protest is a right. Citizens United also helps you leave a record: a dated letter, a saved reply, a suggested sentence, or a dated record showing that no response had been received as of that date.

Replacing someone's claim with a weaker or more extreme version, then arguing against that instead.
